Happy Sunday fun day! Thanks to our wonderful friends Brooke & Danny, we soaked up some Vitamin D while socially distancing and enjoying the beautiful gardens at Sherman Library & Gardens. Currently, the library is closed due to coronavirus, but for $5 (bring your own face covering), you can take a leisurely stroll through the gardens, marvel at the gorgeous flora and a few fauna like turtles, koi fish, and butterflies, and admire the small waterfalls and ponds, fountains, and beautiful Christmas decorations.

I love otters so was particularly excited to see this adorable otter statue surrounding such a picturesque pond:

We didn't visit at the time the model train was running, but I'm sure kids would enjoy seeing the train travel around the model village tracks:

Make sure to stop by the beautiful koi pond and say hello to the turtles and koi fish:

Near the pond, there's a vibrant photo op if you're so inclined:

In the past, these lush gardens have also hosted an array of festivals, programs, and art displays. Here are a few more snaps of the seasonal decorations around the gardens; our plan is to come back every season to check out the current setup and seasonal items.

If you like colorful decorations, you'll probably enjoy these beautiful paper umbrellas that float above one section of the gardens:

The nearby shaded patio also has these colorful umbrellas - an instant mood boost!

If you like cacti and succulents, be sure to swing by the desert garden:

...and soak it all in while taking a break on the bench against the wall:

We also enjoyed walking around this beautiful fountain and listening to the calming sounds of bubbling water:

Here are some close-ups of some florals in bloom, and perhaps a resident cat resting peacefully near the restrooms:

Before heading out, we saw some guests dining outdoors and enjoying themselves at Café Jardin. There's also an afternoon tea that's served among the beautiful floral setting at select times. Will report back if we're able to check out any dining options!
